Why cross-browser testing?

Before getting into our experience with LambdaTest, it’s essential to understand the importance of cross-browser testing. With the increased use of technology, ensuring a consistent user experience across various platforms & browsers is crucial for the success of any web or app development project.

Transitioning from Sauce Labs to LambdaTest

At Musikaar, we initially implemented Sauce Labs for our cross-browser testing needs for one of our clients who is leading cyber security providers. While Sauce Labs served its purpose, we encountered challenges with the execution time and scalability as the demands of our client’s project grew. Additionally, scaling up our testing efforts lead us to increased cost. Hence, it became evident that a more efficient and cost-effective solution was required.

In our search for a more efficient and cost-effective solution, we came across LambdaTest where Cross-browser testing lies at the heart of it’s offerings. LambdaTest looked promising from the information available on the internet, we saw the potential in it for addressing our testing challenges effectively.

After thorough analysis and consideration of our requirements, we decided on a Proof of Concept (POC) to validate LambdaTest’s compatibility with our setup. Setting up a connection between our product and LambdaTest’s cloud servers was created by SSH tunneling, was a crucial step in integrating LambdaTest into our workflow. We seamlessly integrated LambdaTest with our Jenkins pipeline, enabling automated testing on the LambdaTest cloud platform.

Beneficial impact of implementing LambdaTest

The transition to LambdaTest proved to be a game-changer for our testing processes. We experienced a significant improvement in test execution speed, addressing the performance issues we encountered with our previous solution. Moreover, LambdaTest’s cost-effectiveness allowed us to optimize resource utilization and deliver value to our client.

Encouraged by the success of the POC, we extended our usage of LambdaTest to include both on-premises and cloud-based applications. This transition to LambdaTest signifies more than just a change in testing tools; it represents our commitment to continuous improvement and innovation in delivering superior outcomes for our clients.
